Triple2
Triple 2 was the first supporter I was able to inspire for my tour and win over for my project. Triple 2 is a manufacturer of cycling clothing. Of course, there are various brands, but Triple 2 pays close attention to making the entire production process climate and environmentally friendly.
This not only characterises the brand but has also made it my partner of choice. TRIPLE2 is one of the first companies to manufacture cycling clothing completely fair in Europe, source its materials in Europe and use only recycled materials or materials of natural origin.
In addition to the sustainability aspects, the brand particularly impresses with its quality, which is at least as important for my cycle tour! In addition to all the technical aspects, I also have something else to say at this point. In my opinion, Triple2 not only has great products, but is also a really likeable company. All the contact I’ve had with Triple2 so far has been incredibly pleasant and uncomplicated. The founder and CEO Matthias is an incredibly warm and uncomplicated person and is passionate about his company.
I have rarely had such a comfortable video meeting as the one where I introduced myself to Matthias, even though I had to do the meeting from a friend’s garden due to some unfortunate coincidences with a poor internet connection.

Auf Draht
In my search for a suitable bike, I clicked through a lot of websites, online shops and bike forums. With limited success. Either the requirements for the bike weren’t right, the price was too high, or it wasn’t available in my size.
However, I had a great success with the bike shop “Auf Draht” in Cologne Sülz!
In addition to my bike, I was able to gain a great supporter here! The owner of the shop, Marcel, gave me great advice on a suitable bicycle and then organised my dream bike in the right version and in my size!
The TX800 from VSF-Fahrradmanufaktur with rim brakes and a 62 frame. In fact, this version of the bike is hard to get! But thanks to the shop Auf Draht I am now the proud owner of this model! For more details on the bike, check out the packing list.
But that’s not all, in addition to the advice and support, I can now also learn something from Marcel! I’ll be able to refresh my basic knowledge of bike repair under Marcel’s guidance in his repair shop! Then maybe I’ll be able to do a bit more than just mend a flat tyre 😉
Now a few words about the business. Auf Draht has been a quaint little bike shop in Cologne Sülz (Weyertal 18, 50937) since 1990, selling new bikes but also offering a workshop for bike repairs. Most of the bikes are from the manufacturer FSV-Fahrradmanufaktur, but other brands are also available. For example, bikes with wooden frames! If you’re interested in something like this, you should definitely stop by!
I can only recommend this small shop in Cologne Sülz to anyone in Cologne who is looking for a bike, advice or a repair. The focus here is definitely not on maximising profits, but on making customers happy!
